The website is "eCom for Artists" which stands for eCommerce for Artists. So I wanted to start out by defining what that means.
eCommerce (aka e-commerce) stands for electronic commerce and refers to both a digital platform and a business model where you can buy or sell products online. The most popular example of eCommerce is online shopping. For artists, this means putting your artwork online, whether that is original sculptures, paintings, drawings, or reproductions like prints etc. and allowing customers to make purchases via the internet.
eCommerce encompasses maintaining relationships with your prospects and collectors, and conducting business transactions via the internet, including selling information, services, and goods.
If you are an artist and wondering if e-commerce is something you should be doing, our recommendation is YES! Now more than ever, artists are able to take their art career by the reins. You no longer need to rely on galleries to represent you and to sell your artwork through. The beauty of the internet is you can reach a broader audience, allowing you to sell to collectors all over the United States, and even internationally if you'd like.
